Bay Area Chapter Meeting – Invasive Wood Borers in the Bay Area

February 21 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Our first Chapter meeting of the year will be on Wednesday the 21st of February starting at 3 pm. This will be a remote (Zoom) meeting. The topic will be several invasive insect pests that are currently within the boundaries of the Chapter. The Mediterranean oak borer (Xyleborus monographus) will be the primary pest to be discussed (for background, go to https://ucanr.edu/sites/mobpc/), an insect now found attacking valley oaks in Napa County. A recent find of another invasive shot hole borer in the San Jose area, may also be discussed. Our speakers will include Curtis Ewing, Tom Smith (both from CAL FIRE), and Mike Jones (UCANR).

If interested in attending this Bay Area Chapter meeting, please RSVP to David Bakke for Zoom details (dbakke@bayareasaf.org).
