Bay Area Chapter Meeting – Bean Feed With Cal Forestry Club

May 3 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

We will be joining the Forestry Club for a bean feed at UC Berkeley!

The Forestry Club is inviting us to share their last bean feed of the current school year. And you know they make great chili, cornbread, and desserts. The event will begin at 5:30 pm. The event will be set up on Pat Brown’s patio – just north west of Mulford Hall (look for the blue umbrellas).

Cash donations to the Forestry Club will, I’m sure, be gladly accepted (but not required).

Please RSVP by April 28th to rachelle.hedges@berkeley.edu so that we have an idea of food amounts needed.

There isn’t much parking available on campus, but there is close paid street parking available on either Hearst Street or Oxford Street, around the northwest border of campus.  It’s free after 6pm.

For those interested and with the time, there is a Main Seminar at 4pm that will end just prior to the start of the bean feed. Our speaker will be Britta Dyer, from American Forests. Britta’s talk, Collective Recovery, Building Social and Ecological Resilience Through Reforestation, will focus on climate-smart reforestation in California following the rash of unprecedented mega-fires in recent years.  The seminar is held in Mulford, room 103.  We’d be excited to have any Bay Area SAF members attend who are interested.
